At Tango Kennels, we believe that every great dog starts with a solid foundation. Our combined AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), and Trick Dog class is designed to build essential life skills, strengthen the human-animal bond, and offer fun, achievable goals for dogs of all ages and breeds.
Whether you’re starting out with a new puppy or looking to advance your adult dog’s training, this course provides a clear pathway through positive reinforcement, structured learning, and engaging activities.
🐾 What You and Your Dog Will Learn:
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy (Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility)
Ideal for puppies under 1 year old
- Socialization with people and other dogs
- Basic obedience skills (sit, down, come, leash walking)
- Puppy manners (no jumping, biting, etc.)
- Responsible owner practices
Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
Recommended for dogs 6 months and older
- Loose-leash walking and polite greetings
- Sit/stay and recall with distractions
- Handling by strangers (vet/groomer prep)
- Calm behavior in real-world situations
- Prepares dogs for therapy work or advanced training
AKC Trick Dog (Novice & Intermediate)
For dogs who love a challenge and want to show off!
- Learn fun, crowd-pleasing tricks like shake, spin, crawl, and jump through hoops
- Great mental stimulation and confidence-building
- Earn official AKC Trick Dog titles upon completion
